- We're committed to Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12) by reducing waste and optimizing resources in casting. Through the use of recycled aluminum alloys, we've reduced waste by 20% over the past 5 years, minimizing our environmental footprint. Our environmental management practices are backed by our ISO 14001 certification, ensuring compliance with internationally recognized sustainability standards.
- We ensure ethical labor practices throughout our supply chain and actively invest in our people (SDG 8). In 2024 alone, we offered over 100 hours of optional learning courses from logistics and marketing to language training to every SQM team member motivated to strengthen their skills and build long-term careers within the company.
- Innovation in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9) is key to our future. We're investing in 3D printing and casting simulation technologies, enhancing efficiency, reducing material waste, and developing sustainable, high-performance alloys through collaborations with research institutions.
SQM proudly supports the EU Green Deal, aiming to cut emissions by 2030 and reach climate neutrality by 2050. We are also committed to meeting Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulations by working with certified CBAM organizations to ensure our partner factories comply with EU environmental standards and minimize carbon emissions.
