SQM provides cathodic electrodeposition coating (KTL) for high-performance corrosion protection of steel, cast iron, and aluminum components. This fully automated process involves submerging parts in a water-based epoxy resin bath and applying a DC voltage (typically 200–400 V) to deposit a uniform, high-adhesion coating even in recessed or complex geometries.
Film thickness is precisely controlled (typically 15–35 µm), ensuring consistent coverage without affecting dimensional tolerances. After deposition, parts are oven-cured at 170–200°C to achieve optimal hardness, chemical resistance, and salt spray performance exceeding 1000 hours per ISO 9227.
KTL is ideally suited for any application requiring long-term protection against corrosion, humidity, and chemical exposure. The process is RoHS-compliant, environmentally controlled, and fully traceable under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
