SQM offers hot dip galvanizing for steel components requiring long-term corrosion protection in aggressive environments. Parts are chemically cleaned and fluxed before being fully submerged in molten zinc at approximately 450°C, forming a metallurgically bonded zinc-iron alloy layer with a typical coating thickness of 70–150 µm.
This process delivers exceptional resistance to moisture, abrasion, and atmospheric corrosion, making it especially effective for structural steel, support frames, enclosures, and outdoor infrastructure. The coating protects both through barrier action and cathodic protection, ensuring exposed areas remain shielded even if the surface is scratched.
We accommodate large-format components and assemblies, with process parameters controlled to ensure uniform coating thickness and minimize zinc buildup or distortion. Final inspection includes coating thickness measurement (per ISO 1461), adhesion checks, and visual quality control. Ideal for construction, energy, transport, and heavy-duty industrial applications requiring decades of maintenance-free performance.
